Like stealing candy from children and clubbing baby seals to death--Bashing the former Cheerleader is just to easy. So--today I want to make a effort to recommend a positive way for you to become part of the solution to crushing poverty. For far too long citizens of Western Countries have relied on their respective governments to solve this intractable problem. Unfortunately, savage poverty occurs in countries where local government is corrupt and much of the aid sent goes into the coffers of those who are not hungry. Too bypass these filthy criminals is a must. What can we do? How can we as an individual make a difference in the lives of people so far away? You, and like minded individuals, can invest in the lives of individuals.

Kiva.org allows individuals to make $25 loans to low-income entrepreneurs in the developing world (micro-finance). By doing so, individuals like us provide affordable working capital for the poor (money to buy a sewing machine, livestock, etc.). Remove government lackeys, cronies and criminals from the process!
It's a new and direct way to fight global poverty.
