Blame It On The Sinners! UPDATED

[UPDATE: In my original post I failed to link to Johnathan Turleys very fine blog and blockquote the piece from his blog -- DJ]

Anyone who stays relatively current on the big issues of the day know that last years financial meltdown and what caused it are much debated on the internet. Well I would like everyone to know that we can stop the debate. The culprits have been identified. At least in the small, bigoted mind of Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern they have:

Kern has drafted a resolution that puts the current economic crisis squarely on the backs of libertines and godless people who have produced a moral crisis. This includes Obama’s refusal to “uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in recognition of our National Day of Prayer.”

That's right, it's our sinfulness! So gays, pornographers, abortion providers, sex abusers, sex traffickers, single moms, and the current President of the United States caused all of our financial woes. And Kern wants to make sure you know that. Here is the pertinent excerpt from her resolution:

WHEREAS, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater nationalmoral crisis; and
WHEREAS, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery; and
WHEREAS, alarmed that the Government of the United States of America is forsaking the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built; and
WHEREAS, grieved that the Office of the president of these United States has refused to uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in giving recognition to our National Day of Prayer; and
WHEREAS, deeply disturbed that the Office of the president of these United States disregards the biblical admonitions to live clean and pure lives by proclaiming an entire month to an immoral behavior;

It takes a special kind of crazy to conflate the President, providers of legal medical services, divorced people, gays, and single moms with the like of child abusers and sex traffickers. But this is America and everyone has a First Amendment Right to speak freely. I would encourage Sally Kern to continue excersing her constitutional Rights so that we may know exactly where she stands on the issues.

It was this anti-gay tirade that brought Sally to national attention last year:
