Read this horrifying account of three alleged suicides at Gitmo. Is this the smoking gun? Will this be the catalyst to finally move the administration to investigate the possible war crimes of the Bush/Cheney folks? One can only hope these crimes are investigated and prosecuted. It sickens me to think that the Obama administration would continue to look the other way.

Closing Gitmo
President-elect Obama's advisers are quietly crafting a proposal to ship dozens, if not hundreds, of imprisoned terrorism suspects to the United States to face criminal trials, a plan that would make good on his promise to close the Guantanamo Bay prison but could require creation of a controversial new system of justice.
Read the entire piece. The pitfalls are many but it certainly bodes that the Obama team is quickly moving to end this national disgrace.

A Hopefule Sign? ... Don't hold your breath ... cowards and war criminals
Maybe, just maybe, their is hope for the Republicans, and the Senate in general (but I’m not holding my breath). Lindsay Graham questioned BG Hartmann, the legal adviser at Gitmo about waterboarding. Graham deserves credit for pressing the issue.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who asked the hypothetical, pushed Hartmann on his answer, asking him directly if it would be a “violation of the Geneva Convention”:
GRAHAM: You mean you’re not equipped to give a legal opinion as to whether or not Iranian military waterboarding, secret security agents waterboarding downed airmen is a violation of the Geneva Convention?
HARTMANN: I am not prepared to answer that question, Senator.
After Hartmann twice refused to answer, Graham dismissed him in disgust, saying he had “no further questions.”
Watch the video. He reminds of the former Walter Reed Commander who got fired. However, this guy is spouting the party line so I suspect his job is safe.
The leadership at the General and Flag Officer level in our military is staggeringly inept and cowardly. These people are so cowed and beholden to the Former Cheerleader and his Gang of War Criminals they won’t stand up to him. Disgraceful. Shameful.

Shame and Degradation
The former Cheerleader and his band of war criminals blemished the traditions of justice with insane policy and the mistreatment of detainees at Gitmo. Here's a little reminder of the cost.

Still the Greatest Generation
Silence is golden. WWII Vet responsible for interrogating top echelon tell the former Cheerleader and his thugs to stick it. The rest of the group guarantees the moniker Greatest Generation is in no danger of being stolen away by the half-bright part-time jet jockey and his sissy sycophants.
