Huckabee Got Issues, Ctd

Arianna Huffington responds to Reverend Huckabee. If you are interested read her response and make sure to scroll to the bottom of the post to see several other links to reporting on Huckabee's Dumond Problem.

This issue will not go away and things do not look good for Reverend Huckabee. Are the Clinton haters so blinded with rage that they would release a convicted rapist? Are Evangelical Christians naive enough to believe that a jailhouse conversion is enough to warrant clemency? Taking the most charitable view possible of this episode requires one to believe Huckabee is so naive he should not have any executive position in the government, at any level.

The Unsound Judgment of Reverend Mike Huckabee

Reverend Mike Huckabee frequently reminds us that he has 10 1/2 years of executive experience as the Governor of Arkansas. While Governor, Reverend Huckabee was convinced that a convicted rapist named Wayne DuMond had found Jesus. He also pointed out in a press conference that Dumond had had no problems while incarcerated. Imagine that. Finding Jesus while incarcerated. Were it the exception rather than a frequent occurrence in prison populations I could understand his desire to give a good hard look at Dumond's case. Unfortunately, many people "find Jesus" while in prison. Most of them "lose Jesus" when they are let out. Huckabee would also have us believe that:

"There's nothing any of us could ever do," Huckabee said Sunday on CNN when asked to reflect on the horrific outcome caused by the prisoner's release. "None of us could've predicted what [Dumond] could've done when he got out."
Huckabee must have been channeling Condi Rice at the moment. He also claimed that:

... he had considered granting DuMond clemency, but he dropped the idea in response to public outcry.
What Reverend Huckabee does not tell the interviewer is that Dumond was paroled four days BEFORE the Governor was required by statute to announce his decision about the commutation plea. Huckabee reversed his decision the same day the Parole Board granted the Dumond parole petition. How Clintonian.

Huckabee is either naive, partisan beyond the pale, or just stupid. How is it possible for someone of Huckabee's supposed intellect to show judgment so poor as to disqualify him from being a high school principal, much less POTUS?

Huckabee's run is over. Period. Dead. Don't believe me? Read his campaign book, in particular the section on this case and see how disingenuous and self-serving Reverend Huckabee portrays this disgraceful chapter of his management of Arkansas justice. It is truly breathtaking.
