McCardle puts the big scary Culture of Debt meme into historical context. Her calm and rational approach to most of the current economic crises is compelling and probably correct. The establishment medias current Chicken Little impression with regard to the mortgage and banking problems we are currently experiencing is part of the disease; not the cure. Yes we should be concerned, but I'm pretty sure the sky will not fall.
