Molly, the girls, and I will be making our move back East soon. We hope to leave New Mexico on Monday, August 18 and begin our trip with a first stop in Oklahoma City. (It is not completely decided if we will actually drive all the way to Oklahoma City the first day, or not. Its about 8 hours from here and we would like to drive that far the first day. We plan to visit the memorial to the victims of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing. We would like to visit other sites around town and then continue on to Fort Smith, AR and Memphis, TN over the next couple of days. We will then take I-40 on to eastern TN and then drive up through western Virginia. After Memphis we haven't decided where to stop and do the tourist thing. (I would think a stop at Roanoke would be in order, but we will have to see.)
I have called New Mexico home since the early 80's so this will be quite a change for us. However, we are excited and look forward to our new life in New England.
As we drive across the country I'll be posting pictures and adding commentary about this great adventure. If any readers have recommendations for where we might eat, stay or sight-see your input would be greatly appreciated.
